Biocert certification process
The process of achieving Biocert certification for personal care products generally involves several steps:
Application: Companies begin by applying to Biocert, detailing their product formulations, ingredients, and production processes.
Documentation review: Biocert reviews the operation’s documentation to ensure that the product meets the requirements outlined in the standard. This includes reviewing ingredient sourcing, production practices, and labeling.
On-Site inspection: Biocert conducts an on-site inspection of the manufacturing facility to ensure that it adheres to production standards. This includes reviewing facility cleanliness, ingredient storage, production methods, verification of product formulas and labels, record keeping and audit trail.
Certification: If the product meets all of BIOCERT ’s requirements, it is granted organic certification. The brand can then use the Biocert mark for personal care and cosmetics on the product packaging, allowing consumers to easily identify it as certified products.
Annual audits: To maintain certification, the operation must undergo annual audits, which include reviewing any changes in ingredients, sourcing, and production practices.
Applicants can apply through the online service and submit it to biocert certification services alongside the required supporting documents listed in the application request.
Upon receiving the request, the certification service will review the application and accordingly operate an audit.
CS will issue an attestation certificate after due fees payment (without any delay), provided all submitted documents are adequate and comply with the certification program requirements.
